BOOK REVIEW:
“NAMAL” written by “NIMRA AHMED”
REVIEW:
I believe that books always taught us a new way to look at any matter. Namal is a blockbuster Urdu masterpiece novel which made my that believe more strong because this novel is about the goodness and badness of person, the society and the difference of judicial system where there is only justice for upper class and no justice for lower class people but at the end the novel gives me a new way of thinking that if you are right than Allah is always with you and you get justice from Allah and his justice is bigger than any. For me, it is the novel that literally gave me a true sense of amiability, gratification, and delight.
The story is very interesting that a reader not even a single point feel bored or fatigued, though it is a very long story but it does not bring anything other than the feeling of delight, affection and love for the story. The story provides a cliff-hanging situation at the end of each character that force to keep on reading it without any pause and that is what which I believe every reader want in a story.
The thing which I love about Nimra Ahmed novels is the way how she put Islamic teaching in her stories and the way she put Islamic teaching in this novel Namal make me love this novel as the name of this Namal is based on one of the Quran ayat “NAMAL” meaning “ANT” and the motto of this novel is relate to it which is “ANTS EVERAFTER” as plot of the story shows how an ant can rise against an elephant.
I found novel a complete novel full of climax, love, hatred, betrayal, twist, adventure, Islamic teaching, amazing dialogue, inspiring characters and everything a reader wants to read in novel. I really suggest people to read this novel and it my grantee that one can definitely enjoy and emotionally link as it is such a story that anyone who read it can relate it’s events to one’s life as the novel portrait our society. The best thing about is that it make us believe more strong in Allah justice. How? For this you have to read this novel by your own.
For general view, the plot of the story is about goodness and badness of one’s personality and the unjust judicial system in Pakistan. The story is inspired by the famous Shahzeb Khan and NAB officer Kamran Faisal murder case, both were killed by the elite classes but no one till got justice from the judicial system of Pakistan.
Namal story is a complex matrix and based on the unjust judicial system in the society which give justice to upper class against lower class. The story revolve around Faris Ghazi (an intelligence officer) who was in jail at the start of the story because he is convicted for murder of his step-brother and wifr and attempted murder of his relative Zumar Yousuf who was a district attorney and lost her kidneys in the assault and blame Faris for all this because of fake phone call in Faris voice to Zumar prior to the attack. Faris nephew (Saadi Yousuf) is convinced of his innocence, know that actual guilty one is Hashim Kardaar who was Faris first cousin and apart from being an accomplished lawyer, owns an inherited oil cartel. Hashim murdered Faris brother Waris inorder to hide his corruption cases and to cover this he created a scenario in which Zumar was ahot and Faris wife was murdered and all blame goes to Faris. Saadi later come to know about Hashim get Faris out from the jail.
Basic theme of the novel is to describe injustice in our society because of powerful man and his/her money. The novel tell us how innocent people in the society like the positive characters (Zumar, Saadi, Faris, Haneen) of the novel fight for the justice and how criminals people in the society like the negative character ( Hashim, his mother, brother) use their money and get justice at the end in the society. The story narrate that how Zumar, saadu Haneen and Faris fight for their justice and what situations they have to face in their way. To find out either they get justice or not and what is the complete story is about go and read this novel Namal
